Does the world need more Canada? Yes! Over the past few weeks our main project has been abut why the world needs more Canada and we each got to interpret that in our own views. I believe that of course the world needs more Canada because even though there are lots of other countries who are more developed, all countries could use some Canada, even if its our government for or our ideology or our immigration laws, Canada has a more advanced view on a lot of issues that are affecting the world and if we collaborated with more countries we can help tons and tons of more people. We chose a topic to relate to Canadas identity and made a podcast about it, but I am not here to talk about what we already did, I am here to explain my experience with this project.
For my topic I chose Canadian National Parks, and I thought that this connected to Canadian identity because even though it doesn’t directly affect our views it still affects our daily lifestyle, at first I even thought to myself that this would be a hard topic to explain but after I did some research and looked at some articles which were also explaining that same topic I was I got a sense of what I needed to do but once I got into that groove I was making progress with my Multi-paragraph Composition (essay). I thought that making all of these different versions of the information we were making was a really great way for us to not only learn more about our topics over time but also improve more and more with each assignment, we made about 4 different versions of the final product in different forms and each one felt better than the last in my opinion but the one that I felt I was most proud of was the final draft of my Essay.
I spent a lot of time working on that not just alone but with my dad, My dad helped me with my vocabulary as well as helped me make it as presentable as possible. Once we had finished our scripts for the podcast, which also took a bit of time because it was hard for me to try and turn this long essay into a 4 minute video in a podcast form since not only had I never made a podcast before I had to pick and choose what was vital to my topic and what I had to cut. The filming process went well for me since I managed to record at home and I ended up having fun while doing it because it also felt like a ted talk at the same time. Overall this project had its ups and downs for me but I thought that this was a way more productive way to get to that final product since it can be challenging to just make a podcast when you are just reading off of a script but when you yourself research the topic and make sure you are interested in you can see how it affects your work by including all of these drafts by the time we had to record I felt like an expert on the topic.
