Bean Bags? Catapults? These are the things that we had to work with over the last 4 months for our DI presentation.

When we first learnt about DI it was back in November and everyone thought that it was going to really difficult and boring and it was difficult and at times it was boring I still found it very interesting. The objective for our group was to launch a bean bag a certain distance by building a machine and we decided to make a catapult, but the machine needed 2 functions and we made the machine transform into a sling shot as well. The preparation went okay just because in the last few meetings we were still missing a few important parts but in the end we made it work. The actual presentation was a little scary but was also fun, I thought it went well aside from a little improvising because it took a little longer than we had expected to transform the catapult into a slingshot.

This was our actual machine and even though it doesn’t look like much it still worked pretty well and transformed into a slingshot. I thought that I could have gone to more meetings after school since I missed a lot of those and I think that I could have given more input towards our design , I also think that I could have contributed more materials. All in all I thought that it went well and it was a really great learning experience and I am exited for next year’s.
