L.A.U.N.C.H.

In maker we did a short little project called L.A.U.N.C.H. In this we used something called the launch cycle. The launch cycle is a creative process, the process is:

Look, listen and learn

Ask questions

Understand the problem or the process

Navigate ideas

Create a prototype

Highlight and fix

Step one: look, listen and learn

For step one we reseved: string, two rackets, a roll of duct tape, some balloons, five cups and a wiffle ball. Then we were told to create a sport using a least four of these items. After we were told that, we then created a survey. For the survey we had to come up with a question about what our class mates like in a sport and make a multiple choice question out of it.

Then we went outside and played around with the items we had to get some ideas.

Step two: understand the process

For step two we went around and wrote questions on pieces of paper. We wrote questions that someone might ask about the sport.

Step three: understand the problem or the process

For step three we looked at the problem. The problem was we need to create a sport that our class mates would actually want to play so we did some research on what makes a sport boring. Then we decided what we think makes a good sport.

Step four and five: navigate ideas and create a prototype

For step four the first thing we did was create a web about what a sport must have.

Then we created some criteria for our sport like: what are the rules, how many players, etc. After that we created a list of rough ideas of sports we could play with materials we had. Then we had to come up with a concept of a sport that we were thinking of doing.

Then once we had created a fairly solid draft of our sport we went and tested and played our sports.

Step six: highlight and fix

For step six after we had played and tested our sport. We had to identify any problems and fix them if we could.
