Music!

Today I’m going to be talking about my favourite music!
Starting off my favourite genre of music has changed pretty drastically over some time but right know i like jazz, smooth jazz, disco(sometimes) and pop. One of the band that i like to listen to is Heatwave. Heatwave originated in 1975 but the bands mainstream came only one year after in 1976. The founding member, Johnnie wilder, was in the US army as a serviceman in west Germany where he began performing until he’s was discharged and started to sign in night clubs and taverns with other bands while still enlisted. After a while he moved to the uk and the band started to form when linked up with keyboardist Rod Temperton after seeing his add in the paper. Over time the band grew with Johnnie wilder brother, Keith wilder. After signing their first contract with GTO Records in 1976. The band was paired with guitarist Barry blues and rhythm guitarist Jesse whitten. Jesse whitten was replaced with rhythm guitarist Roy carter after a stabbing incident. The band went on to creating there first album Too Hot To Handle in the fall of 1976. Their third single Boogie nights in 1977 was No.2 on the British popular music charts in January and in America in November. Continuing to use Barry Blue’s production skills, Heatwave released their second album Central Heating in April 1978. Since there was a lot of history for this band i am not going to write about it all but you can read the Heat Wave Wikipedia page here!

Moving on to another topic about a central instrument in jazz, the saxophone. The saxophone originated in Belgium and was invented by Adolphe sax on 28th June 1846.
Here is a video about all the different types of saxophones and the music and solos the instrument had and was in!

See you next time.
