Making interesting images

Driving question: how might i use a still image to create and communicate though technology?

Answer: i could create a feeling in the image to communicate something and tell a story or express an opinion by making art. If you post an image online you could communicate to an audience. I could create a photo montage by cutting and pasting photographs together to create an original image that shows my unique point of view.

Question: what are the 3 skills you found most useful and why?

Answer: learning how to use contrast because i wanted to make an image look a certain way, but I couldn’t figure out how to until i learned to use contrast. Different points of view also helped, i used worms eye view the most. Off centering an image was useful to make my photos stand out and look more professional.

Becoming a PLP learner

Over the last few months I have learned a lot in the PLP program, and who I want to be as a PLP leaner. So far I have completed 7 main projects in my maker class all of which I will be talking about today and what I’ve learned about my self as a PLP learner during those projects.

  1. WordPack: This project was pretty simple so I think I actually learned more about other people than I learned about myself eg. others hobbies, how hard they work, and how similar they are to me.
  2. Digital selfie: In the digital selfie I wasn’t sure so as a joke I climbed up a slide and then I realized that I was adventurous.
  3. Laptop Memoji: For this project I learned that there is lots of useful apps that I still don’t know about and still lots to learn about tech that I didn’t know about.
  4. User manual: In the user manual project I learned that I’m not that good at learning new skills even though for the most part I enjoy learning things.
  5. Dreamboard: I’ve never really thought about what I daydream about it was just one of those thing that just happens and this project made me think about something that I had never thought about before!
  6. Bucket list: I’ve thought about want I want to do when I’m older but this project was great because I finally had a place to write everything down.
  7. YouTube channel: since I already have a YouTube channel I had already thought about this and am currently making a video that I wrote down on the project. In this project I learned that I should write down plans somewhere so I don’t forget them.

About me post

Hi, I’m Ryan and I am a grade ten student in Seycove Secondary. I’m writing this about me page as part of the Performance Learning Program in Seycove. Throughout this short write up representing me, I will give you a idea of my personality, hobbies, and experiences. It’s hard to communicate who I am well through text but I’ll try my best.

I spend time and work on my sports, making it part of who I am. If you think about it anything I spend my time doing will have some effect on me, even if not noticeable. I play water polo, ski, mountain bike, play soccer, run, and am starting rugby this year. Staying fit and healthy is a very important aspect of life to me. I think when your body feels good with the right food it makes everything else feel better.

My other interests include hiking, cooking, music, business, design, videography, and city engineering. Having a wide range hobbies is super important to me. I don’t dislike school but I also don’t like it. Being able to go to a wide range of activities or interests outside of school is what makes me happy.

I believe achieving goals is what makes a person really great. Some of my new year goals include hiking Mount Garibaldi, getting 7A’s, start working as a lifeguard, and develop a more successful landscaping business than last year.

Thanks for reading a bit about me! Hopefully you now have a slightly better idea of my hobbies, values and goals.
