About Me

Hello there!  Welcome to my blog.  I’m Cale Gilmore, the person writing this.  I live in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and I’m a student at Seycove Secondary School.  You’ve probably noticed that there are a bunch of posts about school projects on my blog and you’re probably wondering “why would a high school student make blog posts about his school work?”.  Well it’s because I’m in a program called PLP which stands for Performance Learning Program.  PLP is a project based learning program, meaning every piece of work we do is directly connected to our final project, weather the end product is a demonstration all of the information, skills, and knowledge we learned during the project or just a culmination of all our work.  In PLP we use technology to learn; specifically iPads.  99%of our learning is done on technology, and there is even a extra mandatory PLP elective course called Maker that is all about technology skills.  All PLP students have a learning portfolio and you can find them here —> http://www.blog44.ca/plp/learner-portfolios/

Now you’ll probably want to know a little bit about the person who is writing all of this, me.  I should note that all PLP learners also have an about me on their blog so that you can see and get to know all the different types on people that are in the program.  Now back to me.  As you know my name is Cale and I live in North Vancouver, BC.  For the most part I am a very light hearted, friendly person and I am always looking for ways to lighten the mood, which can be very helpful in group environments.  I love skiing and hanging with friends and I have PLP to thank for a lot of my friendships.  I also like video games, and if you didn’t realize from the first thing I said, I’m a huge Star Wars fan.  I am also quite a creative person.  I enjoy building LEGO sets and my own mocs.  Probably the main way that my creativity is expressed is through photography.  I don’t have a professional camera or anything like that; just my phone.  I’m always told that a have an eye for stuff that other people wouldn’t see as a cool photo.  Half the time I’m not even trying to take a really cool photo, and the other half I’ll take upwards of 20 photos just to get one that I think looks good.  Either way most of the photos that I take, manage to capture a vibe and aesthetic.  I’m not super vocal about my interest in photography, but my parents and close friends recognize my talent.  Here are some of my favourite photos that I’ve taken.
