Grade 3’s at Outdoor School

Last night I was able to visit our grade 3 students at North Vancouver’s Outdoor School. The weather was excellent, and the children were having a great time. I met up with the everyone in the new Environmental Leaning Centre (view from dining area to the left). The students were having a snack after having been outside with teachers doing their afternoon field studies. They were all so excited, especially those who shared with me that they saw a baby goat (born June 3rd).

The students went off to their afternoon activities with their counsellors, while I wandered the grounds after chatting a bit with Mme Baillargeon and M. Amundsen. The teachers report that the students are all doing well.

I visited the new mother and her kid, went for a walk in the forest to find the grade 3’s, and then met up with the students for dinner (pasta and meatballs). The students were all very hungry, and there were no left overs that night. They particularly enjoyed the cupcakes for dessert.

They come home tomorrow, and I think they will be tired.

Below are a few pictures from my afternoon walk.

Take care.
