Science recentlyđŸȘ

Welcome back! In science recently, we’ve been learning about a whoooole bunch of different things. The driving question is “how does electricity shape our society and how can we generate it more sustainably?” . We had very many projects. Here some of them are.

Energy Infographic

Honestly, I was questioning if we ever did this, until I went and fetched it in Canva. So we made an infographic that shows people different ways that you can generate electricity. We got to chose, so I chose hydropower. You had to show the advantages, disadvantages, where it is commonly used and the sustainability of hydropower.

Electrical circuits + the game.

You probably already know the different types of circuts. Parallel, open, closed all that. So then we had to make a game. We were to each bring in a shoe box to make a dupe of the game Operation. Except that instead of getting shocked, we don’t want to turn on the light. Here is my game:

Answering the driving question:

Flash back, how does electricity shape our society and how can we generate it more sustainably?

I think electricity is important to our every day lives. It powers our houses, schools, work. It helps us use things like computers, phones, TV’s, Nintendo Switches. But I guess some ways could hurt the environment. To make it better, we can use solar power, wind and water (hydropower).

Run- Short Horror Film

Welcome back. For our launch project this year, we had to watch a YouTube video called “RUN! – 1 minute horror short movie”. This was something we had to recreate in 1 day without knowing about it ahead of time. Here is the original video:

Our first remake was not good. Our group was a mess but, we could do better. Surprise surprise. Ms Mic says that we get to do it again, but this time with a week to do it. My group consisted of Brooklyn and I. We planned out costumes and the types of shots and angels we’d be filming at. This time was definitely better. Here it is:

But wait. Then, it couldn’t be copyrighted or something. So we had to make our OWN audio that was as close as possible to the original one. Here it is:

There is almost NO difference between the 2 clips, except for the audio. But I bet you didn’t even notice.

Throughout this launch project, it showed me how you can have one piece of work and make it 5 times better if you had more time and planned it out better.

Thanks!
