On February 2, 2018 we went to sunny Californiato learn about Disruption.We got to Simon when we were in California to make a video podcast publisher boardgame or a photo essay obviously knowing me I was going to do a video because that’s what I’m good at. We are in a group I was with Izzy Arthur,I will link her blog, we decided to do the video on Torrey Pines, Torrey Pines is a nature reserve. I will post my video here.

We also had to Right an essay once we got back from Cali we had to do a lot of research on disruption in technology. I will put the essay here.

Technology as a Disruption

Technology is a huge part in are life right now like your phone, computer or tablet and is also a huge disruption in our life, but what was in like in the past twenty years and what will it be like in the future? Well I will tell you, there has been so many disruptions in technology such as Apple or Microsoft, these companies I know are making a disruption in our life. I will also be telling you some of the flaws in these companies such as hacking or unnecessary ways that make money and freak people out. In the next phew paragraphs I will prove the disruption these companies are making.

First, I will be talking about Apple and how they are causing a disruption in our community. Apple is one of those companies that will always sell you the top notch thing either a phone or and computer I’m not arguing there. Now they are coming out with phones that are missing things that are essential just to make it thinner and lighter for example the head phone jack. They didn’t just start doing it now, they also did it in the past with the iPhone 6 Plus they made a mistake with the design and now it bends if you sit on it or it’s in you pocket this is just one of the mistakes they have made that has caused a disruption. They are also sending out updates to your phone to make it glitchier or slower just so they make it seem like you need a new phone. In my opinion that is one of the worst ways to make money even though it might be working why would you do that to people, they even admitted that on the news saying “we are going to keep doing this because it’s making us money” this has really changed my opinion on Apple.

Secondly, what will it be like in the future, well you can never truly predict the future unless you have a time machine, but people always have concepts coming from books or even blogs. I just read a book by Cory Doctoro called Little Brother in this book he thought up what the Xbox would be in the future and came up with “the unbreakable Xbox universal and since they make all of there money in games it will be free, in the book they said it couldn’t be hacked. In my opinion everything technical can be hacked in someway and Microsoft is one of those companies that is pretty easy to hack. In the book Little Brother the unbreakable Xbox Universal gets hacked and people start making new software for it. This is why nothing in technology will ever be perfect because there is always that one way to make it better or worse and in the future it will be the exact same way as it is now.

Lastly, I’m going to bring up Microsoft. I know they are a great company when in comes to some things, but they aren’t really a known company when it comes to something new coming out, for example everyone has heard of the new iPhone but did you hear about the new Microsoft phone I didn’t think so. They don’t make products that are very applicable to every day life. Microsoft is more of a work company its for companies that need alot of computers for there employees. They are one of those companies that could easily be hacked and not a lot would happen but if Apple got hacked it would be way different and I feel Microsoft dosnt make as much of a Disruption as Apple, but every technical company makes a disruption is some way.

My conclusion is there will always be disruption in the future or the past it doesn’t matter that’s just the way humans are. Apple will always come out with bad Ideas no matter what, soon it will be no chargers. Microsoft will never be a likeable company and Cory Doctoro might have the right idea of the future we just don’t know yet. Disruption will always be in life it’s like a disease. I won’t always agree with technology everytime. That is why I think there is a lot of disruption in everything.
