Today, I’m eager to share the intricate details of our most recent venture into the realm of PLP—the fascinatingly titled The Manhattan Project… Project. Our collective aim was to delve into the history of the atomic bomb during our immersive field study in New Mexico, the very crucible of the atomic age. The overarching goal? Crafting an insightful e-book about the Manhattan Project. A noteworthy nuance: some of our team embarked on the journey itself, exploring the historic landscapes, while others, stationed in Vancouver, contributed their expertise from afar.
During our expedition, we traversed key sites linked to the Manhattan Project. Among them, the Los Alamos Laboratory emerged as a pivotal stop, though our access was confined to the museum due to its classified status. Additionally, we ventured to the White Sands Missile Range and the hallowed grounds of the Trinity Test Site. The rich tapestry of these experiences is carefully woven into the fabric of our book, awaiting discovery in the final sections linked at the conclusion of this post.
Our journey in New Mexico unfolded as a captivating odyssey through the corridors of nuclear history. The sites we visited, some argue, stand as keystones in the edifice of human history and the ongoing narrative of life on earth as we understand it.
