WWI

For this exhibit we created museum models about World War I. I chose to focus on the effect the war had on our natural world.

In this project we learnt about the First World War. We started by building our knowledge so we knew about the actual events of the war, and then we brainstormed what we wanted to create for our museum exhibit about WWI.  I created a poster with doors which on the outside showed what the battle site looked like during the war and then the inside what it looks like today tanks to the restoration. I think this was a good idea because no one else chose the impacts on the natural world and so I learned a lot about what happened to our land after the war, like how some the trenches were never filled in and the the effort that went into turning some battle sites into memorials. How I could have done better on this project is I think I could have made my poster a bit cleaner, the paint was messed up in some places and I could have made it aesthetically more inviting. In the actual substance of the exhibition I think I should have panned out what I would say to guests instead of just improving, this would have cut down on unneeded extra words and blabbering that may have bored guests.

All in all I think my contribution to the our museum exhibit was a success because it got the point I wanted to get across, and I believe it made people think about our natural world and the war.
