For this project, we embarked on an exciting journey to Walt Disney World in Florida to deeply explore how Walt Disney utilized various elements to influence visitors and create an immersive experience.
During our time there, we divided into multiple groups, each focusing on different aspects of the park and gathering valuable insights. In my group, I had the opportunity to conduct interviews with guests, delving into how the park’s layout and design impacted their feelings and overall experience. It was fascinating to hear firsthand accounts of how Disney’s strategic planning and attention to detail enhanced their enjoyment and sense of wonder.
Reflecting on the trip, I realize that if I could do it over again, there are a few things I would change. First, I would definitely use more sunscreen to protect myself from the strong Florida sun. I learned the hard way how intense the sun can be! Secondly, I would prepare more thoroughly before the interviews to avoid feeling unsure about what to say. Although I did come up with some interview questions ahead of time, I now see that writing a full script for the video would have helped me feel more confident and organized during the interviews. Overall, this project not only helped me learn about the complexities of amusement park design, but it also showed me how important it is to be well-prepared when conducting interviews.
