TPOL 23

As my grade 9 year in PLP comes to an end, there are many things to reflect on. At the start of the year I felt ready to go and as the year progressed my feelings became even more comfortable with my surroundings and the expectations. My growth as a learner this year has been a progressive stream that has turned into a flowing river. I know that there are areas for me to improve in such as time management but I also have a lot of accomplishments to be proud of and to be excited about. I really enjoyed portraying Rasputin in Humanities during the Revolutions unit and I also felt very engaged in the WW1 exhibition that I created gas masks and gas canister artifacts for. This was an example of some of my work that I consider to be of a high quality as many people had positive feedback about it. I really enjoy the course work but sometimes I find myself a little overwhelmed and need to keep working on my work habits such as starting my work or projects right away instead of putting them off even a little. During the Alberta trip I made so many positive memories that will last a life time, I’m so glad that I went and took amazing photos. We also went to the Museum in North Vancouver, another experience that helped further my learning and helped me understand the expectations of the spring exhibitions museum. Humanities really allowed me to show my previous knowledge but also allowed me to dive further in research on the subjects I already enjoy. At times I let my worries get the best of me and I did not always reach the potential of my abilities. I will continue to do my best and take suggestions, but most of all to believe in my self and my abilities. Most of the work I completed was up to the standards I have set for myself but sometimes I did find that I did not allow for enough time to complete work to my standards. Overall my work reveals which subjects I enjoy and which subjects I enjoy less but still need to succeed in. My second year in PLP has been exciting and I look forward to the challenges and fun times ahead in grade 10.
