Plane: 12/16/23

Hello reader, I am currently on a 15 hour plane flight to the Philippines, and then I have a stop over for a whole day and then we have a 7 hour plane flight to our final destination; Perth, WA. Almost every Christmas, my family goes to Perth WA to see our family for the holidays! ✈️

Manila: 12/17/23

Hello, I am currently in Manila Philippines, it is Sunday Dec 17 2023, and it is hot and humid. We have a 6am-12am stop-over, and are staying in a hotel for the day. Its 1 pm right now, and I have explored a lot! First we went for a buffet breakfast in our hotel, and then we headed to the pool. After that we headed into town to explore and see what it was like. The first thing I noticed about Manila was the way they drive here. 

Another thing I picked up on which is pretty hard to ignore is all of the security guards around. Outside of pretty much every store and hotel here there are security stations where we have to walk through a scanner.

After this huge day of exploring around, I would definitely want to return and check out more of the beaches as we did not get to see them this time around. I am super grateful that I got to experience all of this on our stop-over and so far this trip is amazing!! 🌴

Perth: 12/18/23

Yippee! We have finally landed *sigh of relief*

That felt like a year of travelling- we landed a roughly 6 hours ago, and we were greeted by our family; Gigi, Grandpa, and my uncle! We then drove 3 hours to my grandparents house which is in Dunsprough! I love there house so much it is so calming and right by the beach so we can hear the waves all the time! Thankfully the beach outside of their house has a shark net so it is safe to swim, and definitely less stressful! Well I am jet lag, and I’m going to fall asleep very soon, but I am so happy to be here and can’t wait for tomorrow! 🌊

 

Dunsborough: 12/19/23

Ok I am very jet lag, I woke up at 4:30 am. Uh oh. 

I woke up very early along with my sister, mum and dad. We knew we had a long day ahead of ourselves, so we decided to go for a little “hike”. This is about an hour hike that we did, through the out-back terrain. We did survive, although we were surrounded by snakes and spiders I’m sure. The hike takes you to this big rock right next to the beach called Castle Rock, it is a beautiful rock with a beautiful view when you climb it! Of course, with me being so clumsy, I had to obviously fall on the walk- anyways when we got back to the house, we went for a nice swim in the netted area, it was so beautiful and turquoise! I love the ocean! 🦈

 

Shoalie Waters: 12/20/23

I skipped a few days, but you didn’t miss much other than me sitting on the beach relaxing with some lemon-lime bitter in hand. We have now driven to Shoalie Waters which is where my mums great friend lives! We are staying at her house for 2 nights and I’m so excited! She lives a 5 minute walk away from the beach, and there are dolphins in the water here!!! I’m super stoked because my friends Millie and Tess are here too! Every time we are here with them, we go in the spa and play: Truth-Dare-Double Dare-Kiss Command- or Torture it is like the better truth or dare! After the spa, we decided to watch a movie called “Orphan”. It was pretty good. And then we went for a swim in the ocean, but unfortunately didn’t see any dolphins. 🐬

 

Dunsborough: 12/24/23

Ok skipped to Christmas Eve!!! I have officially bought my family all of their gifts, thanks to Kmart!! Today we hung out at the beach, and we went out for some lunch which was really good. I wrapped all of my gifts today and I just relaxed. My sister and parents went on the Castle Rock “hike” again but I had a pretty bad head ache so I decided to stay back with my grandparents. On the hike, there was a shark helicopter and it had its sirens on. Turns out there was a pretty big shark were my parents were just swimming. I wish I was there.✌️

 

Dunsborough: 12/25/23

It is Christmas Day! I am so grateful for everything I got and for everything I gave, I love Christmas so much! After we opened presents we all relaxed on the beach, had a swim and then had a wonderful lunch! It was so good, my gig and gramps made it! 👌after lunch my sister and I played some board games, Yahtzee, Monopoly, Guess Who and Pick Up Sticks! And then we watched a movie. It was a great Christmas!🎄

 

Dunsborough: 12/29/23

Its now the 29th, and I have skipped a few days, all you have missed is amazing food, board games and swimming. Today was a great day full of lots of fun activities! We first had pottery and got to use the wheel, and make it from scratch, it was messy but it was a blast and I think it could be another one of my many hobbies! Right after that we went home, and my sister and I played more board games, and then we headed to get our nails done! Today was super fun and I am looking forward to tomorrow!👍

 

On the road: 12/30/23

Today we are on a mission to get to our camp site! Every New Year’s we head to Pemberton where all of our friends and my family go camping!! It is super fun and there is a pond and a dock/raft thing that you can paddle around on! There isn’t that much to do there, but we always find a way to entertain our selves. Let’s just say that we played a lot of board games.🚙

 

Pemberton: 12/31/23-1/2/24

I am back from Pemberton! We left the 30th, and got back the 2nd of January! Happy New Years guys! My highlight and thing I most enjoyed doing there was probably driving on the sand dunes with my friends. I really enjoyed this because it took me out of my comfort zone and I was a lil nervous sometimes when we drove through small pathways over sand and mud, but it was so much fun! I would definitely do it again, and again and again. 🏕️🎇

Hotel: 1/3/24

Well it is weird writing 24 now, any how, after Pemberton me and my fam drove back to Perth, and now we are staying in a hotel for 2 nights! This hotel is super nice, and has a nice gym and pool. There isn’t much else to say about it, but we are right in the city and there is plenty shops to window shop from! I think tonight is a movie night, finally! And we are also meeting up with my dads friend, and my uncle for some Korean Dinner and bubble tea for dessert. 🏡

(It was very good!)

 

On the road: 4/1/24

Today we are back on the road and heading to Shoalie Waters again. I am super excited because we have quite the day planned for tomorrow! 🚗

 

Shoalie Waters: 5/1/24

We woke up nice and early today, 7:30am, and got ready right away. I am not necessarily a morning person… but today was easier to wake up as I was woken by the Doggies!! They are adorable!! Once we were all ready, we hopped into the cars and drove to the boat launch. Once we were launched we spent all day in the ocean! It was a great day, full of sun, warm CLEAR BLUE WATER, fish and even some dolphins! Thankfully no shark copters had their sirens on today. Going back to the dolphins though- there were roughly 12 dolphins and they came right up close. Here is a video that my mum took of them! The dolphins were a great way to end our ocean boating day, it was wicked and I hope we will do it again next time we are here.🐬

Shoalie Waters: 6/1/24

Good morning. Today is actually my bday. We are still at Shoalie Waters, but are heading back to my grandparents house. I am super excited because I normally get to celebrate my bday here in the summer, instead of back in Vancouver in the winter. Anyways we are stopping at Simmos IceCream to get an ice-cream cake because they are the best. Anyways, thank you to all my fam and friends who made my bday special!🥳

 

Dunsborough: 11/1/24

Hi, today we are back in Dunsprough, it is a nice hot day, 35 degrees, so definitely a swim, beach day. I am planning on snorkelling with my sister, just out front in the local shark netted beach. There are plenty of things you can see and find while snorkelling in WA.🤿

 

Perth: 12/1/24

Today we headed back to Perth to stay the night at my uncles, because tomorrow we are heading home nice and early in the morning. 😭 It’s the best of both worlds, I get to come from hot, nice weather and heading into nice snowy frosty weather! I’m super excited to snowboard! Update: we made it to my uncles, my grandparents came with us because it is my gig’s birthday tomorrow, and we are celebrating it today! We had fish and chips for dinner, and some Tim-Tam cake and ice cream for dessert. It is currently extremely stormy, lots of thunder and lightning, which I was NOT expecting- tomorrow should be interesting.⚡️

 

Airport: 13/1/24

I’m at the airport, it’s 5:30 am, and we just went through security. I now have to wait till 8:00am to board the plane. Luckily the storm stopped at around mid night last night. Phew. I will update when I get on to the plane.🛫

 

Update-on the plane: 9:50 am

We have been flying for roughly an hour, and heading to Manila first. We have three hours at that airport and then we are catching the lonnnggggg flight back to Vancouver. I will be amusing myself, and watching Netflix, and play probably subway surfers or something. So original, I know. One way I have gone out of my comfort zone as a person, is being open to dry the Philippine airplane food. Honestly, I didn’t like it that much, but I still tried it, and picked around at what I did like. I can say that I tried a few new things this trip. ✈️
