Tectonic Chances

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

In this post I am going to be talking about our most recent project and about our whole term.

Our project was called “tectonic chances” we were tasked with create a game based on plate tectonics and the concepts around them (earthquakes, volcanos and other concepts). 

Launch

At the very start of the project we made a project mind map to help collect our thought in what would be good game ideas. At the end of the mind map it ended up covering I would say 98% of what our game included. 

Building knowledge

To build knowledge for this project we were given textbooks pages to research and do worksheets on them. This was to help us learn about the lithosphere and asthenosphere and other things like slab push and pull.

Curricular competencies 

Understanding and solving: I represented my ability to do this when me and my parented had to solve the few problems that came our way and I also showed my skill when I had to choose which game ideas to keep and which to scrap.

Evaluating and demonstrating: I showed my knowledge in this competency when I used the knowlage I had gathered from the textbooks. And applying the to the game. I used 10 examples of tectonic theory’s to complete this competency.

Questioning and predicting: I used most of my class time well. I had to question most of my game ideas to make sure they were solid and they were achievable.
