🐔The Story Of My Website

Hello! Welcome to Student Blogging Challenge post #10! In this post, I am going to write about the website that I run.

If you have read my about me page, then you know that I run a website called Happy Hen Creation Coop. If you haven’t visited it yet then now is a great time to do so!

For five years my family and I kept backyard chickens. It started with four hens, then six hens, then one died and there were five hens. The five hens names were Pippi MacScratch, Cuddles Billyson, Salties Shaker, Sweetie McChick and Scooby Doo. However between August and February 2020 Sweetie and Cuddles passed away and Pippi, Salties and Scooby moved to a seven acre retirement home in Surrey (with three handsome roosters). I continue to use the name Happy Hen Creation Coop in memory of the hens (and because it would be a pain to change the name at this point).
The whole idea of Happy Hen Creation Coop started as a logo (Happy Hen Publishing Inc. or Happy Hen Media Inc.) to put at the end of PowerPoints or movies that I made for various topics. Then I decided I wanted to make a website, but found out that you can’t use ‘Inc.’ unless you are an incorporated business. So I decided to call it Happy Hen Creation Coop. It didn’t have ‘Inc.’ and fit the purpose of the website better.
Happy Hen Creation Coop is an online library for fun projects, recipes and more. Most of the projects are made so you can do them yourself, mostly with everyday household materials. You may need more advanced materials and tools for the recipes.
Now you know a bit about my website! I take my inspiration for the projects from things I see others struggling with or things that they don’t know how to do like iMessage effects or getting rid of hiccups. Then I create instructions with images that I take, screenshot or draw. Then I put it all into the website creator I use, called Weebly, and click the “Publish” button. Then anyone on the internet can read the instructions!
This was a really short post, but we have a lot of homework from our other projects (posts on them coming soon). Be sure to check out my website, leave a comment, and if you like you can subscribe to email notifications for when new instructions are published!
