Hello chaps and welcome back to another blog post! Since December we have been working on something called destination imagination otherwise known as DI. In the last post where I talked about DI we were about halfway through it and had made barley any progress. DI lasted roughly around four months, and after those four hard, confusing and stressful months, DI is finally over.

You may be wondering, what did you actually do for DI? Well my  group was in the technical challenge. For the technical challenge you had to make two devices to overcome three hazards. We also had to make a script and story to tie in with everything, and then finally memorize and present it all in front of our teachers, parents and official DI judges.

For a final reflection of myself and DI, I would have to be honest and say I was so incredibly happy when it ended. I personally didn’t love DI, but I can say that I learnt a lot of new things. The main thing I think I learnt about would have to be time management. My team definitely lacked in that aspect of DI, we could’ve done a lot of different things a lot better if we had used our time more wisely. We started off really slow and it took us a VERY long time to even decide what our story would be based on, and if we had just decided and gotten that done we could’ve started working on more important things earlier in the project. My team and I also could’ve been more on task because a lot  of our time was wasted when we could’ve been using it to be productive. I think that throughout this project I contributed quite a lot. I helped with all sorts of different things. Obviously there were things that I personally needed to work on as well. I had an issue with throughout DI was being quite bossy, but also sometimes people need to be bossy to actually get things done. In the future though I can work on that.

My team!

Overall I think my team and I did pretty ok in DI, our presentation was not terrible and most aspects of our challenge worked, most… I also wanna give a thanks to all my team members because we had some good times in DI together and we all managed to work well with each other and learn new things. Make sure to check out all my teammates blogs as well!
