The Vancouver Aquarium is currently recruiting 18 enthusiastic and self motivated students for our Spring Break Work Experience Placement.  As a work experience student, they will be working within a team of students and staff to create the ultimate visitor experience for all of our visitors this spring. Their days will be filled with fun and varied tasks and they will have the opportunity to engage, amaze and inspire thousands of guests of all ages and from all around the world!

Shifts: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Description of Volunteer Opportunity:
·         Kiosk Attendant
·         Parking Greeter
·         Line engagement
·         Visitor Surveys
·         Crafts
·         Operating touchpools
·         4D assistant
·         Facepainting
Skills Preferred:
·         Outgoing, enthusiastic and self-motivated
·         Students currently in Grade 10, 11 or 12.
·         Genuine interest in working with the public
·         Strong communications skills
·         Experience with delivering excellent customer service
·         Second language an asset
Please Note: This is not an animal handling position.  Students will have limited contact with marine animals.

TRIUMF for SCIENCE focused students Feb 16- 20

 The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)Conference is being held in CANADA for the first time. It will take place at the Vancouver Convention Centre and is expected to attract between 8,000 to 10,000 scientists from around the world in addition to more than 200 media.

200 students will receive a membership in the prestigious American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) along with free passes to attend the full conference February 16-20, 2012, at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

During Fire Fighter career day April 26 you get to try it out!!  Try on the fire fighter suites, wander around in a smoky building, play on the fire truck—-THIS IS AN AMAZING DAY !!!
